Workout/nutrition tips
New sports nutrition products

D-Aspartic Acid:

Being able to increase hormone levels naturally and within safe levels without dangerous and temporary prohormones and steroids is obviously a very good thing.  For males looking to naturally increase their testosterone levels without the negative side effects, look to this scientifically proven amino acid based supplement for a boost to your current stack (see research study here).

Immunity Formula:
Not that this is cold/flu season, but boosting your immune system is never a bad idea.  Especially if you are putting additional stress on your body (like doing RABRAI or training for a competition).  This formula has a blend of different vitamins, minerals and herbal components that help give our body what it needs to stay healthy.

Tri-Methyl Xtreme 3.15
This PH is a stacked combo of Epistain, Superdrol, along with other elements to keep natural test production high, promoting lean, dry gains and increases in strength.

Updated Activate Xtreme formula
One of our most popular natural testosterone boosters just got better!  Naturally increase your testosterone with this product, with no negative or regressive effects.  For the ultimate stack, pair this with D-Aspartic Acid!

Met-Rx Evolution
We’ve discussed before how critical post workout nutrition is.  Here is a new product that has everything you want in a post workout formula.  By supplying 30 grams of protein, 23 grams of carbs, creatine and amino acids, you get what you need to grow and get stronger without a big whopping dose of carbs to gain bodyfat.  If you’re pressed for time, want to get/stay lean but optimize recovery, this is for you!

Personal Training/Nutrition/Coaching Clients

Check out this recent success story and testimonial from Deanna:
Success story
Before and after Bodysculpting results
Here’s a couple examples of results from our Bodysculpting program:

Also, in her first month, Deanna has lost 15lbs off the scale, lowered her bodyfat by 7%, and lost inches (including 4″ off waist!)  However, she is continuing her success and is down 100lbs and still going strong!!

Since beginning, Bill has gone from 20% to 10% bodyfat, lost 8″ on his waist, and 32lbs off the scale.

We are all about comprehensive and more individual training, focusing on you and your results.  It really is more like personal training than group fitness!

Bodysculpting sessions start every 9 weeks.  Workouts are on M/W/F/S or on T/R/S.  Class size is small so they fill fast.  If you want to get in on the action, stop by soon to get your spot.  Cost is $299 on the 4 days per week slots, times are 5 or 6 AM and noon.  Besides killer workouts, good nutritional habits are reinforced with a focus on education and accountability.  See what makes this different than anything else around!
**Next session (M/W/F/S) starts Monday, December 13th**

One-on-one personal training available as well!
Our staff of trainers are not only just certified, but also have college degrees in the field.  Our many clients range from weight loss, weight gain, strength/balance, sport specific training among others.  If you want to get out of a rut and train in a private setting, we can set up a program that works for your goals, schedule and budget.  Times available are 5AM thru 7PM.  Contact Daira, Tasha, David, Mike or Ryan to set up a free initial session/consultation.

In-home training!!
Perhaps you have a home gym and you want to get better (or some) use out of it, this is for you!!  We will come to you and train you on your equipment (plus bring a little of ours) to make sure you get a killer workout at home.  We can also help you design your home program so that you see results and stick with it.

One-on-One nutrition and training planning/coaching
If you are interested in getting into your all time best shape and reach your full potential, contact Ryan about one-on-one nutrition/training coaching today.  This is for ANYONE who wants to get in better shape, not just bodybuilders!  Ryan is a certified sports nutrition specialist and will create a custom meal plan based on you, your goals and lifestyle, then monitor and work with you on a weekly basis to make sure you hit your goals.

Aquamassage
This is an incredible way to get a quick, non-invasive, therapeutic massage.  What looks like a tanning bed is actually a chamber that has 40 high-pressure jets that go from your feet to your neck pulsating heated water.  You don’t get wet though and are fully dressed.  There is a sheath between you and the water, so you just lay there, relax and enjoy!  A great pick-me-up over lunch, after workouts, or as a maintenance in between intense deep tissue work.  Only $1.00 per minute it is a great way to treat yourself (or someone you know).  Swing in and try it out!

Client Results
Here are some of our recent clients we would like to brag up!

Tina: Following one of our customized workout programs increased her bench press by 10lbs while reducing bodyfat.

Denny:  Again using a customized training plan, increased his deadlift by 20lbs, bench by 10lbs and squat by 35lbs in 6 weeks.

Bill: At age 58, with doing our nutrition/training coaching has lost over 40lbs of bodyfat and did his first bodybuilding contest at a weight he hadn’t seen since high school.

Announcement-additional store location in Pleasant Hill

October 28, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Since 2003 we have been Des Moines and central Iowa’s source for the best sports nutrition supplements. In 2007 we remodeled and added our Full Potential Training studio to the Clive location, offering personal training and Bodysculpting Classes to the supplement and nutrition coaching services. Being an independent and locally owned business, we have grown steadily over the years, relying primarily on word of mouth referrals from our loyal customer/client base.

We are now ready to take an additional step by adding a second location in Pleasant Hill! The address is 4400 East University Suite B in Pleasant Hill. The location is in the first level of the Fitness World East building, on the East side, just West of the Copper Creek Mall.

Hours will be our normal store hours, Monday thru Fri, 11-7, Sat 11-5 and closed on Sun. The anticipated open date is Monday, November 1st.

We will offer all the sports nutrition products and supplements you have come to expect from us, high quality, effective and best priced products in the market. In addition, we will continue to build our reputation by providing guidance based on what works, verses just being sales clerks.

Thank you for your loyal support and referrals over the years, we could not have gotten here without the strong customer base that we have! Chat with you soon at one of the locations!

Training update

October 27, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

For those of you who might be interested, I thought I would provide you with an update to my training progress. If you haven’t seen it yet, I know maintain a training blog here that you can look at to see what I’ve been doing. My goal and intent here is to give you ideas that maybe you can use in your own workouts.

Currently I am training for another powerlifting meet. This one is the USAPL meet on Dec 4th in Freemont, NE. This is a drug-tested meet (which is the big draw for me) and Team Nutri-Sport will be there competing. I am going up a weight class (165) and making the best gains ever! Besides following my workout program to a “T” and keeping intensity high, I also have been using D-Aspartic Acid, a researched natural test booster, liver tablets and Activate Xtreme.

Here is a video of a training session today, where I hit a PR on squats with 365, using neoprene knee sleeves. I then did a PR with 295 on good mornings for 5.

Keep checking the training log for updates. For information on our customized training or nutrition programs, email us at: ryan@nutrisportfpt.com

Nutri-Sport supplement research review: Fish oil

October 11, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Essential Omega fatty acids are getting more and more press every day for good reason, they work!  Not only is it a healthy thing to do, but from an athletes perspective, they can benefit body composition too.

Recently, a study was published in the Journal of International Society of Sports Nutrition studying the effects of supplementing fish oil on resting metabolism, fat free body mass and cortisol levels.  See study here.

The results showed that fat free mass (lean muscle) increased significantly and fat mass decreased.  Cortisol levels were also reduced.

Yet another reason to take your fish oil and why it’s included in the Nutri-Sport “Foundation Stack”.
