“I am a 35 year old who has always enjoyed working out at the gym to stay fit.  For years I have told myself that I should try competing in a bodybuilding competition.  Many of my friends have told me that I would do well if I competed.  In January of 2010, I made the decision to compete in the 2010 Nutri-Sport Natural Iowa Championships.  I knew this was going to take a lot of discipline on my part to get ready, especially with the diet.  I knew that with the proper nutrition I would get lean but needed some help getting there.  Since this was going to be my first competition, I wanted to do things right.  I was inspired by Ryan’s photos in his store and his success in achieving his pro-card and knew he had the knowledge and tools to get me ready by May 8th.  In early February, I met with Ryan to set up a nutrition plan and get advice on supplements.  He took my weight, photos and measurements that day.  About a week later, I received my food log and started my training.  I found it difficult to meet my numbers the first couple weeks.  It seemed like I was eating 24/7.  Once I figured out which foods I could eat to reach my numbers it became much easier.  Ryan checked in with me every week during this process to track my progress and motivated me to keep working hard.  I was using my own workout for the month of February and then decided to get further advice from Ryan and had him develop a workout plan that I could follow for the duration of my training.  Ryan continued to work with me on a weekly basis making adjustments and taking measurements when necessary all the way up to the show.  When it came down to peak week, he was very specific on what I should eat and drink and how much.  Ryan takes his client’s training very seriously and will let you know what you are doing wrong if he doesn’t see the results he is expecting.  He is very professional when working one on one with his clients and wants to see them succeed.  As you can tell, the results I got from Ryan were amazing!  For the first time, I could actually see a six pack!  My workout partner couldn’t believe the transformations I made and the people I saw in the gym and at work everyday were inspired by my progress.  I went from 13% body fat 220 lbs at the beginning of my training to a little over 4.5% body fat and 195 lbs on the day of the show.  All of Ryan’s coaching paid off as I took first place in the Novice-Tall category and won the overall for the Novice division.  I took first place for the Iowa Open-Tall category as well.  I was very pleased with the results I achieved for my first natural bodybuilding competition and will certainly continue to work with Ryan in the future.”

“As a mother of 2 children (5 &3 yrs old) I had constantly struggled with my weight and appearance for years.  When I joined Nutri-Sport’s 9 week challenge I was at a point of desperation. Due to our family’s finacial situation I knew I could only afford to take this class once throughout the year and from the get go I decided to make the most of my time there.  I viewed this as an oportunity to invest in myself and my health.
    At the start of the program I felt a bit out of place. Most of the people in my class had better conditioning and overall they were in better shape than I was.  As I disciplined myself,  the constant support and drive of the trainers within the program helped me realize just how much I could accomplish.  As my body got better and the results became more apparent I pushed myself harder than I have ever done before,  The staff helped answer any and all questions I could possibly think of asking (and trust me they were a lot!).  Anything from what to eat, when to eat it, what supplements would help me achieve my goals faster, and how to maintain an overall sense of balance within the program. Maintaining discipline in my eating habits was crucial to my results. The trainers also helped me understand how to continue getting results even though I no longer was able to continue the challenge with them.
     I won’t lie and say that it was an easy adjustment to make for myself.  Most,  if not all of my habits changed as I accepted the challange.  Anywhere from my eating habits, my discipline as a person, and even my sleeping habits.  The trainers not only work with you in accomplishing your goals, but they also believe in you which makes them even more amicable and trustworthy.  Youu do feel challenged by the workouts, you certainly feel challenged by the trainers (whose constant push is necessary, at least on my case), you also feel challenged by the people within your class in a way that it is a healthy competition to give your best everytime you are there. But most importantly it is a challenge to yourself.  To know that the more you apply yourself, and the more you discipline yourself the better results you get.  To challenge yourself to change your habits and put yourself to the test and not only know but also see the results of your work and their guidance it is the most rewarding experience I can honestly say I have ever had!”
