Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I do not skip it and take the right foods it is essential to prevent obesity and maintain weight. How many times have you heard this or something similar?
Well now you can put a question to these sweeping assertions. New research, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, warn that the evidence for this belief is not as proven.
Why? Very simple: the studies that showed these hypotheses have not been updated, leading researchers to question the authenticity of the old premises. The language used in the original investigations, the description of the findings or interpretation of the results has changed in a few decades.
According to the researchers, there is empirical evidence of which has been misunderstood, explained with inappropriate language or too many contributions have been made free. The result? That breakfast helps with weight control is an exaggerated belief.
This does not mean, however, that breakfast is not important; physical and mental to face the day energy supply is beyond doubt, let alone after the morning practice, but it reminds us that there are no absolute truths, even those that are based on data.
