Often times, people overlook the benefits and importance of body weight exercises. The ability to move one’s body in a variety of different angles and positions not only is great for sporting activities, but also just for everyday function. In this video, David demonstrates a great variation to pull ups, an exercise that stimulates the back and arms extremely well, but is also difficult for most to do.

Nutri-Sport and Full Potential Training Tip

Back is one of those bodyparts that some people have a hard time with. Why? Mainly because it’s on your back and you can’t see it! One tip I like to use is “pull with your elbows” which helps clients to think of their arms as hooks and focus on contracting the back.
One of my favorite exercises is pull ups, but for many, this is a very difficult exercise to complete. A variation is what I call a “rack chin”. It’s great for lat development, plus it allows those who might not be able to get many pull ups to do more. This is why some will want to add weight to their lap for extra resistance. Make sure you can get a full stretch and really squeeze the lats at the top.
