As hundreds of clients have experienced, we have been offering Bodysculpting workouts at Nutri-Sport for a few years now. We are extremely excited to start open this small group training option up to even more individuals!
Our program is more like small group personal training than any other type of group fitness class out there so we have set it up as such. The sessions are now divided into months (verses weeks) and you can sign up month to month. We also have various time slots, 5AM, 6AM and noon on Mon/Wed/Fri and 7 PM on Tues/Thurs. Saturday is 7AM or 8AM. You can attend 4 of these sessions based on your schedule (and it is okay to make up at a different than normal time slot).

The training sessions are always different, focusing on all aspects of fitness to make it fun, challenging, but most important, effective on helping you look and feel your absolute best!

The next sessions begin on February 14th. The evening session is Tuesday/Thursday at 6:30 PM and Saturday morning at 7 or 8 AM. The morning sessions is Monday/Wednesday/Friday at either 5 or 6 AM, plus Saturday morning. There is also a noon session on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Cost on the evening 9-week session is $225, the morning and noon session is $299.

We have been running a unique program at the Nutri-Sport training facility for a few years now. It’s called Bodysculpting and is a unique program to the Des Moines metro.
What sets this apart really is that it is more like personal training than group fitness. Our studio is fully equipped but we limit our workouts to no more than 12 people at a time. This allows for effective use of space, plus the ability to provide more supervision, motivation and instruction from our certified trainers to the participants.
Other aspects that make this a unique training program is the inclusion of training techniques that you can learn to do on your own and incorporate this into your lifestyle. After all, we want this to be more than just a “transformation challenge” but rather a lifestyle change for good. Additionally, we monitor the nutrition of our participants and make corrections/recommendations to ensure they are getting results.
Workouts are always different, plus they are intense and fun! Typically, the first 40-45 minutes are spent doing weight training with the last 20-15 seconds focused on raising your metabolism and getting the heart rate going for fat loss and conditioning. We track progress and each individual works to their own level of fitness and strength. Participants are successful at achieving their goals whether bodyfat loss, get healthy, strength gain, muscle gain or a combination of these.

The basis behind it is limiting the blood flow during an exercise. Studies demonstrate that leg training is most effective for this. By creating this environment, the muscles are more stimulated to grow, but you don’t have to use as much weight or put as much stress on the body (great for injuries or deloading phases). Nutrition tip: Convenience
Having convenient options is important to hit your nutrition. One way to do this is to make large amounts of good food that you can scoop out of. A great carb source is mashed yams. Peel yams, cut into sections and boil till tender. Mash w/beater and then weigh out portions as needed (2.5 oz is 20 grams carbs). Mix in your protein (esp great with cinnamon roll or vanilla cinnamon whey), add it to veggies, lots of options. Look below for a great pancake recipe using it! Supplement tip: Check your foundation
Often times individuals get too wrapped up with what’s the newest, latest/greatest or what the other person in the gym is using. However they skip the critical beginning and look at their foundation. Anyone, no matter what their goals are, should have the fundamentals in place. This consists of protein (either fast/slow/timed release depending on goals), multi-vitamin (appropriate to their age/goals) and essential fatty acids (omegas). From there, one can branch off and get specific. Come in and one of our experts can help you design a supplement program that meets your needs and fits your budget.
Recipe: Sweet potato pancakes
Awesome breakfast!! Use the sweet potatoes discussed earlier.
Take 1-2 scoops of vanilla whey, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 2 Tbsp oatmeal, 4 oz mashed yam and 1/2 cup of liquid egg whites (or 3 egg whites). Mix in a bowl and pour 1/8 cup amounts onto hot skillet, cook as you would a pancake. Serve plain or with peanut butter or sugar free syrup on top!

They say that pictures say a thousand words, well, one of our recent participants not only has some impressive pictures show her results from the 9-week Bodysculpting program, but also tells a great story!
Deanna just finished up her first 9 week Bodysculpting session at our Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat 6 AM time. She did amazingly and nailed it on all fronts, attendance, nutrition and workouts. In 9 weeks, Deanna lost over 15 inches around her waist/hips and lost over 7 inches in her arms/thighs. Her bodyfat went down 9.7% and she lost over 33 pounds according to the scale!

As a mother of 2 children (5 &3 yrs old) I had constantly struggled with my weight and appearance for years. When I joined Nutri-Sport’s 9 week Bodysculpting challenge I was at a point of desperation. Due to our family’s financial situation I knew I could only afford to take this class once throughout the year and from the get go I decided to make the most of my time there. I viewed this as an opportunity to invest in myself and my health.
At the start of the program I felt a bit out of place. Most of the people in my class had better conditioning and overall they were in better shape than I was. As I disciplined myself, the constant support and drive of the trainers within the program helped me realize just how much I could accomplish. As my body got better and the results became more apparent I pushed myself harder than I have ever done before, The staff helped answer any and all questions I could possibly think of asking (and trust me they were a lot!). Anything from what to eat, when to eat it, what supplements would help me achieve my goals faster, and how to maintain an overall sense of balance within the program. Maintaining discipline in my eating habits was crucial to my results. The trainers also helped me understand how to continue getting results even though I no longer was able to continue the challenge with them.
I won’t lie and say that it was an easy adjustment to make for myself. Most, if not all of my habits changed as I accepted the challenge. Anywhere from my eating habits, my discipline as a person, and even my sleeping habits. The trainers not only work with you in accomplishing your goals, but they also believe in you which makes them even more amicable and trustworthy. You do feel challenged by the workouts, you certainly feel challenged by the trainers (whose constant push is necessary, at least on my case), you also feel challenged by the people within your class in a way that it is a healthy competition to give your best every time you are there. But most importantly it is a challenge to yourself. To know that the more you apply yourself, and the more you discipline yourself the better results you get. To challenge yourself to change your habits and put yourself to the test and not only know but also see the results of your work and their guidance it is the most rewarding experience I can honestly say I have ever had!

We have a lot of success over the past couple of years with our Bodysculpting program. This program is different than many of the “transformation” programs out there. Really Bodysculpting is more like personal training than it is group fitness. We keep the number of participants in the workouts small so we can better supervise and push everyone. Additionally, the workouts are always different, both in structure and equipment used. The intent is always the same: stimulate the muscle tissue and bodyfat loss. The popularity of our current Bodysculpting program has been overwhelming! Boasting an 85% return rate, our clients in the program have gotten great results!
Currently, the workouts are Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5 or 6 AM, noon and on Saturdays at either 7 or 8 AM. We focus on muscle stimulation for strength and muscle building, boosting the metabolism for bodyfat loss, core and stability work, along with concentrating on nutrition and emphasizing lifestyle habits.
Due to the popularity and demand for the program, we are now going to be offering a Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday program now too! The time during the week will be noon only, then also on Saturdays at 7 or 8. If you have the flexibility to take a long lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, then this is for you! We have shower facilities so you can head back fresh, invigorated and ready to go!
As does our other program, we expect you to get other workouts on your own on the days you don’t train at Nutri-Sport. These are days you can do cardio at home or maybe do that cardio/fitness class at the gym that you really enjoy. In this manner, it promotes self-discipline as well as an effective variety to the different types of training at our studio that you will experience.
The normal Bodysculpting program is $299 for 9 weeks. We are going to be doing an introductory special on this first release of the Tues/Thurs/Sat program. For 6 weeks, beginning January 18th, the cost is only $150! We limit the space to 11 clients to optimize supervision and to allow for space considerations.
If you are interested in cranking up your current workout routine a couple notches, or are just trying to get into one, this is for you! No matter what your current level is, we will help you get adapted and advance at your own pace.
